With the Pitch Envelope you can control the pitch of a sound over time, and with the LFO you can add vibrato with control of the depth over time.
How to use it
The Pitch Envelope has the following two parameters, Range and LFO. The default parameters will not change the pitch (after Reset). Only the selected portion of a sound will be modified.
The Range popup menu can have a value of x4 to √∑12, it controls the maximum pitch the envelope can have when it is processed. For example with a Range of x2, you would have a two octave range (up two octaves and down two octaves). If you want to raise the pitch a half step, (1/12 of an octave), set the Range to √∑12.
The LFO dialog box lets you add vibrato to the sound. When a waveform is selected, the envelope controls the depth of the LFO. For a true vibrato effect use the sine waveform and set Range around √∑11 or √∑12 for a slight variation in the pitch.
Notes
Normally you want the LFO frequency from 1 to 20 Hz so you can here the pitch go up and down, but with higher frequencies you start getting into frequency modulation (FM). Try this on a sound of someone talking for a robot type sound effect, set the envelope type to Pitch, Range √∑3, waveform to Triangle, Frequency to 160 Hz, and move the envelope tags for maximum LFO depth.
